I am interested in how populations of neurons work together to create a coherent perception and initiate actions. This involves investigating the function and organization of the mouse visual system, and exploring it as a model for perceptual decision-making.

I completed my PhD in the UCSD Neurosciences program with Ed Callaway at the Salk Institute of Biological Studies. During my time in San Diego, I used in vivo imaging and viral techniques to investigate cell types and pathways underlying visual perception in the mouse.

In addition, I care deeply about neuroscience outreach, teaching, and communication, and try to tweet and blog about science as much as I can.
